What is Shodo?
Shodo (Japanese Calligraphy) has been practiced and appreciated since the 5th century.
It is originally from China, but Japanese calligraphers have developed unique styles and techniques, which made Japanese calligraphy so profound.
We use Fude (blush), Sumi ink, and paper. The power you press the blush onto the paper makes the relaxing sound.
It is not only a form of art but a form of meditation.

Download the model copy and watch videos.
We recommend to print out the copy as it is easier.
STEP 3
Take a picture of your work. Make sure the entire paper is visible.
Send the picture to me. I will review and correct.

Once you are satisfied with your work, move on to next step.

Please allow up to 3 days for reply and corrections.
You can either resubmit your work to get corrected or move on to the next excercise.

You can choose 30 min or an hour zoom lesson.

Q. What do I need to have before starting the subscriptions?
A. You need a brush (Japanese or Chinese), sumi ink, washi paper, paper weight, mat, and sumi container.
I recommend this product (You will be redirected to amazon.com). It has everything you need except washi paper. We recommend this washi paper (You will be redirected to amazon.com).
Q. Do you sell shodo supplies?
A. We do not sell supplies for now. But if we will be getting more requests, we might in the future.
Q. Can we see an example of how it works?

Q. Do you offer free trial?
A. Yes, we do. If you go to the subscription link, it will automatically give you free one-month trial.
Q. Are you an experienced teacher?
A. Yes, I am. I have taught many people from age 5 to 60. I also do have a teaching license from one of the biggest shodo organizations in Japan.
Q. What do I get for the six submission reward?
